Anniversary
poem
Summer heralds warming bliss and illuminates our affection
And heralds this, our anniversary, a time for warm reflection.
Like the seasons that evolve and merge seamlessly together
Our marriage nurtures natural love, as it will forever.
And you are the summer with its tranquil, transcendent
haze;
A perpetual radiance that ignites and brightens days;
No more so than on that day of fate, now ten years ago
When we stood in providence side-by-side, to each other our love bestow.
And after seeing how you’ve coped with dark winters
gone before
I look upon you every day since then with quiet, marveled awe.
Our dear Megan is the spring, with beauty and bright expectation;
And all those around her blossom from her pure illumination.
She could have no better mother, and I no better wife;
With all of us in unison, there can be no better life
For all our futures are the autumn, with its contented peaceful hue
And I want to tell you how blessed I feel to be spending it with you.
“Wow! That is simply beautiful. I could not have said
it better myself!!! Thank you.” |
